At the heart of my counseling philosophy lies the unwavering belief in the internal power every individual holds to initiate and sustain change. I embrace a holistic approach that transcends traditional psychotherapy, nurturing the deep and intrinsic connection between mind, body, and soul. This integrative framework is not just about addressing mental health concerns but is a journey towards comprehensive wellness, recognizing that true healing and transformation encompass all aspects of the human experience.

The Foundation of my Philosophy is The Interconnectedness of Being

Mind: The mind is the architect of our thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. It shapes our reality and influences our emotional and physical well-being. In counseling, we engage the mind through strategies that foster self-awareness, challenge limiting beliefs, and encourage positive thinking, laying the groundwork for profound psychological growth.

Body: The body is the tangible manifestation of our existence, offering vital clues about our mental and emotional states. It’s essential to listen to the body, understand its signals, and nurture it accordingly. Our approach integrates body-centric practices like mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and movement therapies to promote somatic awareness and healing.

Soul: The soul represents our deepest essence, the core of our being beyond the physical and mental layers. It’s the source of our values, passions, and intuition. Counseling from this perspective involves exploring one’s purpose, fostering spiritual wellness, and connecting with one’s authentic self.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, under the guidance and supervision of Stamatis “Takis” Bogdanos. With over 25 years of professional experience in the corporate setting, I help clients through the challenges of burnout, work stress, financial hardships, and academic pressures. I also help those who face divorce, single parenthood, addiction, family violence, and trauma. My passion is working with individuals, couples, and groups of all backgrounds, including different cultural and religious experiences. On a more personal level, I bring life experience into the profession. I was a troubled and difficult child. In my youth, I was defiant, hard-headed, and difficult to be around. I was easily susceptible to peer-pressure which took me to dark places. I had burned all bridges with family and friends. I discovered my internal power to change, released my anger and shifted my mindset toward seeking a life worth living. My challenges continued with the death of my parents, the difficulties of single parenting, divorce, rejection, and financial hardships. Through all of these difficult times something my mother told me kept repeating “Life doesn’t stop because you do“. That quote has been my motivation to embrace the experiences life presents to us!
